Trampoline Mats

Trampoline mats come in a variety of shapes, sizes, color and fabric. You can buy a round trampoline mat, a rectangular trampoline mat or even an octagonal trampoline mat. The prices vary, from just under $100 to about $140.

Good trampoline mats take a ton of bounce - more than 800 pounds per square inch. You can choose from so many fabrics and colors. Lets look at a few.

If you want to upgrade from the traditional fabric and look of trampoline mats you can add about $10 to your purchase price and choose a different weave for your rectangular or octagonal trampoline. This higher end weave of trampoline mats is more porous and therefore gives you a little bit better bounce. This happens because the porous nature of this weave reduces air resistance while you jump. The material of these trampoline mats is polypropylene. It only comes in black.

You can, however, for an additional $10, add some color to your trampoline mats and your bounce experience. These fabrics have a weave of both black and colored yarns that causes the color intensity to change with each change of viewing angle. These colored trampoline mats are cooler on your feet because the fabrics tend to deflect the heat.  You can choose from either sky blue, Bermuda green or tan trampoline mats.

For your trampoline mats you can choose a sun shield as well, for about $30. Available in either black or blue, this addition to your trampoline mat gives it a longer life because it protects the stitching on the mats' perimeter from the sun's UV light.  This is especially important as these stitches typically only last thirty to fifty percent as long as your trampoline mats themselves. So, even though your trampoline mats haven't worn out, if your stitching has you're still going to need to replace your mat.

A sun shield is made up of very durable webbing. It weighs more and is wider than your car's seat belt. It gets sewn onto the top of the trampoline mat perimeter stitching and doubles the life of the stitching which doubles the length of time you can go before having to replace your trampoline mats.

Another advantage of the purchase of a sun shield for your trampoline mats is that it extends your trampoline's stitching warranty from the basic two years to a phenomenally long four years.

For those of you that have round trampoline mats you can completely eliminate the trampoline stitching problem by replacing them with durable metal clips. These come with a five-year warranty and retail at around $50.
